Garden club

The Cudgee School Garden Club was formed at the start of 2014. The club is made up of a passionate group of parents and teachers who see the potential in revitalising our school gardens and creating opportunities for our students by linking curriculum with learning in the natural environment.

Club members have a diverse range of talents on offer ranging from horticulturalists and small farm holders to those who have planted their first veggie garden this year. What joins them is a passion for enriching the learning experiences of the children at CVPS.

The Garden Club meets each Thursday at 1pm in the school garden. The students meet here and listen to the jobs they will be apart of.  Students from Years K-6 have the opportunity to attend. We would love to see the school community come together to create a green haven for our students and staff.

How Can I Help?

The Garden Club is ALWAYS looking for volunteers to help with lunchtime lessons each Thursday and working bees on the holidays. Contact the school for more details and keep an eye on the weekly School Newsletter for more information.

What Does The Garden Club Need?

Mulch - preferably lucerne, all year round

Manures - any manure fresh or dried is welcome. We can compost and add to the gardens.

Wheelbarrows and watering cans

Large tools - shovels, spades, rakes, hammers, garden forks etc. Good second hand donations are always welcome.

Buckets of all shapes and sizes

Pots - used garden pots of all sizes are very handy and most welcome

Succulent cuttings - We plant these in Garden Club and sell at our pop up shops to raise money for our gardening activities.
