Each year at CVPS students from years 3 - 6 with musical experience are given the opportunity to perform at the annual Festival of Instrumental Music at the Opera House in Sydney. They gain their musical experience through either private tuition outside of school, or through participation in a beginner’s recorder group at school.
The recorder group meets each week to learn how to play individual parts and then learn how to play each of those individual parts together. In 2019 we had 8 students playing the beginner recorder section, 2 students playing advanced descant recorder, and 1 student playing the Tenor recorder.
Next year’s Festival of Instrumental Music is already being planned and Mrs Lynn will begin working with those students who wish to participate in 2020 early in Term 4.
