What we offer

Throughout the year, a variety of activity clubs are available to support students at recess and lunchtimes.

CVPS has a productive Garden Club comprising of parents, grandparents, carers and friends of Cudgee students. Garden Club operates on Wednesday mornings before school. Commencing at the 8.45am bell, any students can wander over and enjoy gardening in the school veggie patch with our Garden Club volunteers.

A Chess Club meets on Wednesdays at recess for students in K-6. The group usually consists of approximately 20 students. During the session, the older students support the younger students by providing coaching as they play chess. A tournament is organised in Term 4 to enable students to bring to a competitive game the skills acquired throughout the year.

The ECO Team are a group of student elected , class representatives from Years 3 to 6. We meet each Tuesday at recess. It is the responsibility of the team to discuss environmental matters affecting our school. In 2019, we joined the ECO Schools project and we decided that our project would be to manage our waste by recycling and beginning Trash Free Tuesday. We also started to collect cans and bottles for the Return and Earn scheme. We will continue our waste management project and it will be the student's responsibility to help educate and encourage other students to recycle and reduce waste.

A Crocheting Club, organised by a current CVPS mother, meets in the Library each Thursday at recess. All students are welcome to come along and sit together while crocheting on their own projects.

The Kindness Crew begins in Term 3 and involves students in Year 3 to Year 6. They meet each week to discuss the virtue of kindness and how we can spread kindness throughout our school and school community. We do random acts of kindness and are involved in activities such as visiting Mudgee nursing homes at Christmas time and singing Christmas carols.

A Drama Club is being launched this year at CVPS. Interested students from Years 3-6 can attend following the lunch-time eating bell, in the hall on Fridays.
